Blue Mountain Christian Men’s Cross Country Wins Topper Trails College Classic

Blue Mountain Christian University’s men’s cross country team celebrated Senior Day with a victory at the Topper Trails College Classic, held in Blue Mountain, Mississippi. Senior Lukas Dykes secured the individual title, finishing with a winning time of 28:10.1, according to meet organizers.

The Toppers placed four runners inside the top four and seven inside the top nine, finishing with a team score of 17 points. Their scoring five completed the race in a combined time of 2:28:17. Junior Jonah Barnhardt was the second-fastest runner for BMCU, crossing the line in 28:31.4.

Senior Braxton Enzor finished third in 29:39.2, and freshman Samuel Aguilar placed fourth in 30:06.9, helping secure the team victory. Freshman Austin Ellis finished seventh in 31:50.2, while seniors Lelan Boulden and Erick Flores finished eighth and ninth, respectively, nearly side-by-side in 31:51.6 and 31:51.8.

Other top finishers for BMCU included Jacob Waller in 11th place with a time of 32:24.2 and John Thomas Draper in 12th at 32:49.5. Samuel Hutchinson rounded out the team in 20th place with a time of 37:23.2.

The meet also served as a Senior Day celebration, with Dykes, Enzor, Boulden, and Flores all finishing in the top nine. BMCU finished ahead of Tougaloo, which scored 52 points, and LeMoyne-Owen with 69 points.
