Barnhardt Named SSAC Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week

Montgomery, Alabama — Jonah Barnhardt of Blue Mountain Christian has been named SSAC Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week. Barnhardt finished seventh at the Harding Invitational with a time of 21:17.60 for four miles, according to the school.

The junior runner is building on a breakout sophomore season in which he earned First Team All-SSAC honors. His recent performance adds to an impressive stretch for Barnhardt, who is a leader on the Topper men’s cross country team.

“Jonah has really grown as a runner over the last year, and I think we’re continuing to see that development,” said BMCU head coach Phillip Laney. “He competes every time he steps on the course, and he has set some high expectations for himself this season. I’m proud of the way he has started his junior year.”

With another top-10 finish under his belt, Barnhardt appears poised to continue building on the success that marked his sophomore season.
