Blue Mountain Christian Men’s Cross Country Opens Season at Foothills Trail Meet

Jacksonville, Ala. — Blue Mountain Christian University opened its 2026 men’s cross country season Friday at the Foothills Trail Meet, hosted by Jacksonville State University. The Toppers competed against 16 other teams and finished ninth overall in their first race of the year.

Senior Lukas Dykes led the Topper pack, finishing 47th with a time of 16:36.7. Junior Jonah Barnhardt was the second BMCU runner to cross the line, placing 66th in 17:08.9. Freshmen Samuel Aguilar and Layn Burney finished 78th and 80th, with times of 17:32.4 and 17:38.9, respectively.

Senior Erick Flores clocked a personal-best time of 17:51.4 to finish 88th, while senior Braxton Enzor was 98th in 18:13.7. Fellow freshmen Jacob Waller and Austin Ellis finished 102nd and 119th, with times of 18:22.6 and 19:00.8. Senior Lelan Boulden also posted a personal best, finishing 126th in 19:13.8.

Other Topper finishers included sophomore John Thomas Draper in 141st at 20:47.8 and freshman Samuel Hutchinson in 145th at 21:07.7. The team’s efforts marked a strong start to the season as they look ahead to upcoming meets.
