Mooneyhan Brothers Lead Blue Mountain Christian at SSAC Track Championships

The Blue Mountain Christian men’s track and field team showcased a strong performance at the SSAC Championships in Gulf Shores, Alabama. The team earned multiple podium finishes in field events and posted several personal bests across distance races, according to school officials.

Jared Mooneyhan led the way with a second-place finish in the pole vault, clearing 3.35 meters. His mark set a new school record and marked a historic moment for the team. Joseph Mooneyhan followed with a third-place finish at 3.20 meters, while Braxton Enzor added a fourth-place showing at 2.75 meters. All three vaulters recorded personal bests.

In distance events, Jonah Barnhardt delivered one of the meet’s top performances. He finished fifth in the 10,000-meter race with a school-record time of 32:23.23. Barnhardt also placed seventh in the 5,000 meters in 15:35.72. Erick Flores and Noah Harrington set personal bests in the 5,000 meters, finishing 15th and 17th, respectively, with times of 17:28.45 and 17:56.94. JT Draper achieved a personal record in the 10,000 meters with a time of 37:55.20.

Middle-distance runners also contributed to the team’s success. JaKarien Perry finished 13th in the 800 meters in 2:03.97, followed by Lukas Dykes (14th, 2:04.42) and Sammuel Hopper (18th, 2:12.98). Dykes also competed in the 1,500 meters, placing 13th in 4:18.00, while Lelan Boulden finished 17th in 4:50.17. Enzor recorded a personal best in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:27.24, finishing 11th.

The 4×800-meter relay team of Perry, Hopper, Boulden, and Dykes finished sixth with a time of 8:33.65. The team closed its season with strong performances, including a school record in the pole vault and multiple personal bests across the roster.
