Mississippi College Men’s Golf Closes in at GSC Championship
Dickson, Tenn. — Mississippi College men’s golf remains in contention after two rounds of the 2026 Gulf South Conference Men’s Golf Championship at Greystone Golf Club. The Choctaws are third overall at 573 (+5), trailing West Florida (565, -11) and Lee (567, -9), heading into the final round.
Joao Iglesias led the team with a record-setting performance, carding rounds of 66 and 69 to sit atop the individual leaderboard at 135 (-9). His opening round of 66 tied the lowest first-round score in tournament history and helped set the tone for Mississippi College’s strong showing. Todd McKie is third individually at 140 (-4) after two steady rounds of 70.
Other scorers for the team include Jack McKie (149, +5), Zach Robertson (150, +6), and Ben Eichelberger (154, +10). UWF continues to lead the team standings with a balanced lineup, with three players tied for fifth at 142 (-2). Lee is within striking distance, thanks in part to Drew Zielinski, who is second individually at 138 (-6).
Union (Tenn.) remains in the mix with Lane Carr shooting 141 (-3). Valdosta State and Trevecca Nazarene have also maintained strong showings through balanced scoring. The final round is set for 9 a.m., with Mississippi College aiming to narrow the gap and contend for the title.
