Blue Mountain Christian Women’s Track Finishes Strong at SSAC Championships

The Blue Mountain Christian women’s track and field team concluded its season with a notable performance at the SSAC Championships in Gulf Shores, Alabama. The team secured three podium finishes and achieved several personal bests across distance and field events, according to school officials.

Kaedyn Wilson led the way for the Toppers with two third-place finishes in the distance events. The freshman set a personal record of 18:50.63 in the 5,000-meter run and also finished third in the 10,000-meter race with a time of 39:59.42. Her 10,000-meter performance not only was a personal best but also established a new school record, officials said.

Ella Shepherd added a second-place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, clocking in at 12:06.54. Shepherd also helped the relay team to a fifth-place finish in the 4×800-meter relay, alongside Jorja Kate Mooneyhan, Ruth Hutchinson, and Wilson. Mooneyhan recorded a personal best in the 800-meter run, finishing 10th with a time of 2:35.02. Hutchinson also set personal records in the 1,500-meter run and finished 14th overall with a time of 5:33.24.

Additional contributions came from Leah Montgomery, who finished 20th in the 1,500 meters with a time of 6:24.42, and Lauren Paul, who placed 16th in the 5,000 meters in 24:08.90. In the field events, Abby Laney threw a season-best 29.15 meters in the discus to finish 10th.

The Toppers wrapped up the 2026 season with a strong showing, highlighted by three podium finishes, multiple personal records, and a new school record, according to school officials.
