Blue Mountain Christian Women’s Cross Country Sweeps Top Five at Topper Trails Classic

Blue Mountain Christian’s women’s cross country team celebrated Senior Day with a commanding performance at the Topper Trails College Classic. The Toppers took all five top individual spots and secured the team victory, finishing with a perfect score of 15 points.

All five scoring runners finished ahead of the next-best team, Delta State, which scored 40 points. Blue Mountain Christian’s runners combined for a time of 1:47:43, averaging 21:32 per 5K.

Senior Ella Shepherd led the team, winning the individual title in 20:26.6. She was followed closely by Kaedyn Wilson, who finished second in 20:30.8. Lauren Paul crossed the line third in 22:00.3, while Ruth Hutchinson placed fourth in 22:19.7. Jorja Kate Mooneyhan completed the sweep in fifth place with a time of 22:26.4.

Freshman Josie Meeks finished 11th overall in 23:55.6, and senior Leah Montgomery, in her final home race, placed 13th with a time of 26:04.6. The meet also served as a recognition event for the team’s seniors, as they competed in one of their last collegiate races.

Blue Mountain Christian finished 25 points ahead of Delta State, the second-place team. The Toppers’ strong showing highlighted their depth and talent on Senior Day, marking a memorable conclusion to their season at home.
