Blue Mountain Christian University men’s soccer team fell 2-0 to Williams Baptist University on Saturday afternoon at The Summit. The match remained scoreless through the first half, with neither team able to find the net.
After halftime, the Eagles took the lead in the 55th minute when Adriano Pelloni scored on a penalty kick. The Toppers intensified their attack, generating 14 second-half shots compared to just three in the first half. They finished with 17 shots overall, including seven on goal.
Blue Mountain continued pressing for an equalizer, with Davi Rainato providing a spark off the bench by recording four shots, all on target. Pedro Pina and Guilherme Aguiar also attempted shots on goal for the Toppers.
Williams Baptist sealed the victory in the 88th minute when Alberto Ruiz scored. Luan Nascimento played all 90 minutes in goal for Blue Mountain, making five saves.
The Toppers held a 14-8 shot advantage in the second half. The match marked a competitive effort by both teams at The Summit, with Williams Baptist earning the win.
