CLINTON, Miss. — William Carey University’s men’s cross-country team opened its 2026 season with a sixth-place finish at the MC Opener, hosted by Mississippi College.
Matthew McGuire led the Crusaders, finishing seventh overall with a time of 15 minutes, 41 seconds. Luke Skinner finished 13th in 15:51, while Niklas Moilanen crossed the line in 17:58. Nate Beard completed the race in 18:34, and Julius Giller rounded out the team with a time of 19:37.
The Crusaders are scheduled to return to competition on Sept. 18 at the Southern Showcase, hosted by Jacksonville State in Huntsville, Alabama.
