MRA sweeps Jackson Prep again after five-set loss at Hartfield

Madison-Ridgeland Academy kept Jackson Prep from turning their volleyball rematch around Tuesday, winning 3–0 at home for another straight-set victory over the visiting Patriots. MRA took the October 13 match 25–19, 25–21 and 25–20.

MRA repeats its sweep

Jackson Prep’s highest-scoring set came in the second, when it reached 21 points, but MRA closed each of the three sets at 25. The reported match result confirms the girls varsity non-conference victory in Madison.

The rematch followed MRA’s August 4 sweep in Jackson, when Prep pushed the second set to 27–25 between 25–18 and 25–15 losses. Our Tuesday preview highlighted that competitive second set as a point of comparison. This time, MRA finished all three sets without needing extra points.

A win after the Hartfield defeat

The result gives MRA a victory after its October 6 trip to Hartfield Academy ended in a 3–2 loss. The posted postgame records stand at 27–10 for MRA and 11–13 for Jackson Prep, which was unable to reverse the outcome of the teams’ earlier meeting.
