Ole Miss Track Star Tarik Robinson-O’Hagan Becomes SEC’s Winningest Men’s Athlete

Ole Miss senior Tarik Robinson-O’Hagan made history Friday at the 2026 SEC Outdoor Championships in Auburn, Alabama. He secured his 13th career conference title, the most by any men’s athlete in SEC history, according to the university.

Robinson-O’Hagan clinched his latest victory in the shot put, with a throw of 20.80 meters (68 feet, 3 inches) in the fourth round. His second-round mark of 20.56 meters (67-5.50) gave him the lead early in the competition. No other competitor came within 2.5 feet of his best effort, the university said.

Since beginning his career at Ole Miss in 2023, Robinson-O’Hagan has become a prominent dual-threat thrower. He is a four-time national champion and a 14-time All-American. His 13 SEC titles include seven outdoor and six indoor championships. His total points scored at SEC meets reached 144, with an average of 18 points per meet, the school added.

Robinson-O’Hagan’s achievements surpass the previous SEC men’s all-sport record of 12 titles, set by Auburn’s Harvey Glance from 1976 to 1979. His total ties him with Arkansas legend Amy Yoder and Florida swimmer Tracy Caulkins for the all-sports record across both men’s and women’s sports.

After his victory, Robinson-O’Hagan told SEC Network’s John Anderson that he has always wanted to be the best in the conference and Division I. “Me and my brother always dreamed of it, for it to happen in this league, in track and field, I’m happy about it,” he said. “I’m very grateful for my coaches because they peaked me out. Without them, I’m nothing.”

In addition to Robinson-O’Hagan’s success, Ole Miss junior Akaoma Odeluga won her first SEC title in the women’s shot put, with a throw of 18.25 meters (59-10.50). Her victory marked the 19th outdoor SEC title in women’s history for Ole Miss and was part of the first outdoor shot put sweep for the Rebels since 1998.

Ole Miss also saw strong performances from Logan Kelley, who tied for seventh in the pole vault with a personal record of 5.40 meters (17-8.50), and from sprinters Alicia Burnett and Dekell Minor, who qualified for Saturday’s finals in the 100-meter dash. Competition resumes Saturday, with the Rebels set to compete in the third day of the championships.
