Southern Miss Tennis Player Hannah Chambers Named to 2026 Sun Belt Community Service Team

HATTIESBURG, Miss. — Hannah Chambers, a graduate of Southern Miss women’s tennis, has been named to the 2026 All-Sun Belt Community Service Team, the conference announced Thursday.

The honor recognizes student-athletes across the Sun Belt Conference for their service, leadership, and community involvement. Chambers contributed 13 individual service hours and 73 team service hours during the academic year. Her volunteer efforts included work with Hub City, the Edwards Street Food Drive, Trick or Treat at the Pete, Seymour’s Closet, and Healthy Kids Day.

As president of the Southern Miss Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, Chambers played a key role in organizing service initiatives involving Golden Eagle student-athletes. She also led planning for the 2026 Talon Awards, an event recognizing the achievements of Southern Miss student-athletes.

The Barbados native has balanced her community involvement with a successful athletic career. On the court, she was a regular in the doubles lineup during the 2026 season. Partnering with Miranda Xu, Chambers helped the Golden Eagles secure their first-ever victory over Tulane and earned a win at No. 2 doubles in the Sun Belt Championship against App State.

Chambers previously competed internationally out of Barbados, participating in the Regional 16 & Under ITF/COTECC team and winning junior titles at the J5 Villa and J5 Castries tournaments before arriving at Southern Miss in 2022-23.
