Ole Miss Softball’s Taylor Malvin Named to SEC Community Service Team
Ole Miss softball player Taylor Malvin has been named to the Southeastern Conference’s annual SEC Community Service Team, the league announced Tuesday. Malvin earns this honor for the second consecutive year, representing the Rebels on the list of student-athletes recognized for community involvement.
The senior outfielder has been a key player for Ole Miss, batting .274 with four doubles and 18 RBIs over 53 games this season. Beyond her performance on the field, Malvin has served as the team’s representative for the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and has actively participated in various volunteer activities in her local community.
Malvin helped pack over 100 boxes for Adopt-a-Basket, providing holiday assistance before Thanksgiving. She also volunteered at the North Mississippi Regional Center’s Haunted Trail event, assisting with games and acting as a scare volunteer. Additionally, she contributed to Feed the Sip, collecting and distributing 16,000 non-perishable food items to children in Tunica and Quitman counties. Malvin has mentored youth at the Oxford Park Commission and collaborated with fellow student-athletes during the Ole Miss Big Event to support the campus-wide Trunk or Treat during Halloween.
The Rebels will open the 2026 SEC Tournament on Tuesday, facing No. 12 seed South Carolina. The game is scheduled for approximately 4 p.m. CT and will be televised on the SEC Network. Fans are encouraged to join Rebel Rewards, the school’s loyalty program, via the Ole Miss Sports mobile app to earn points for attending events and redeem prizes.
