Ole Miss Softball Freshman Madi George Named First Team All-American by D1Softball

Ole Miss softball freshman Madi George has been named a first-team All-American by D1Softball, the university announced Thursday. The recognition follows her earlier selection to the Softball America All-America team and her second-team NFCA All-America nod, announced Wednesday.

George, a Leander, Texas native, becomes the first Rebel to receive All-American honors as a freshman from both D1Softball and Softball America. She also earned first-team NFCA All-South Region and second-team All-SEC honors this season. Additionally, she was a finalist for the NFCA Freshman of the Year and received national and SEC freshman of the week awards.

In her debut season at Ole Miss, George posted a .379 batting average with 23 home runs, 63 RBIs, 27 walks, and 10 doubles. She set school records in home runs, RBIs, total bases (150), and slugging percentage (.824). Her 23 home runs ranked second in the SEC, behind NFCA National Freshman of the Year Kendall Wells.

George’s performance helped lead Ole Miss through a challenging season, with the team competing against top-ranked programs. Her achievements highlight her as one of the most impactful freshmen in college softball this year.
