Ole Miss Men’s Tennis Prepares for NCAA Tournament Match Against Clemson
The Ole Miss men’s tennis team is set to begin its NCAA Tournament run on Friday, May 1, in Tucson, Arizona. The Rebels will face No. 33 Clemson in the first round of the Tucson Regional.
The Rebels (19-9, 6-8 SEC) earned the No. 2 seed in the region and will play Clemson (16-12, 8-5 ACC) at 12 p.m. Central Time at the LaNelle Robson Tennis Center. A victory would send Ole Miss to face either regional host Arizona (21-4, 8-0 Big 12) or Northern Arizona (18-5, 7-0 Big Sky) on May 2 at 3 p.m. CT for a chance to advance to the Super Regionals.
Tickets are available for $10, with doors opening at 9 a.m. MST. Live video and stats will be accessible on the Ole Miss athletics website once play begins, according to school officials.
Clemson has faced a challenging schedule this season, including several matches against SEC opponents. The Tigers have a 1-3 record in those games, which included contests against LSU, South Carolina, Auburn, and Florida. The team features ranked players such as Viktor Markov (No. 41 singles) and Romain Gales (No. 47 singles). In doubles, Clemson is represented by No. 24 Noa Vukadin and Markov, along with No. 59 Marko Mesarovic and Henrik Bladeius.
