Ole Miss Men’s Golf Advances at NCAA Championships with Tankersley’s Strong Round
CARLSBAD, Calif. — Cameron Tankersley delivered a strong performance Saturday as No. 9 Ole Miss men’s golf completed the second round of the NCAA Championships at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa. The Rebels improved their team score by 10 strokes from the first round, finishing with a total of 20-over par for the weekend.
Tankersley shot 5-under on Saturday, bringing his two-round total to 4-under and placing him inside the top 20 individually. The senior started his day with a perfect front nine, making five birdies and four pars. He added two more birdies after the turn, totaling 10 birdies so far this weekend, which ties him for fifth most by an individual. It marked his 20th round below par this season.
Teammates Cohen Trolio and Finn Meister both shot 3-over, while Tom Fischer and Collins Trolio finished with 4-over scores. Ole Miss will wait for its tee times for Sunday as teams continue to complete round two in California.
