Ole Miss Golf’s Tom Fischer Named Finalist for Haskins Award
COLLEGE PARK, Ga. — Ole Miss senior Tom Fischer was announced Friday as a finalist for the 2026 Haskins Award, presented by Stifel and awarded annually to the top male college golfer, according to the Haskins Foundation.
The Birmingham, Alabama, native played a key role in Ole Miss finishing third at the NCAA Winston-Salem Regional, shooting three consecutive rounds of three-under-par 68. His performances have earned him recognition on multiple leaderboards, including No. 10 on the individual Scoreboard rankings, No. 13 on the PGA Tour U rankings, and No. 23 on the World Amateur Golf Ranking.
Fischer has secured four top-five finishes and five top-10 finishes this season. His team-leading stroke average of 69.64 is the third-best in school history for a single season, according to university sports information. Despite the team still competing, Fischer’s current average ranks among the best in Ole Miss history.
The other finalists for the award include players from BYU, Virginia, Pepperdine, Oklahoma, Alabama, Auburn, Texas, and Oklahoma State. The complete list features Kihei Akina, Paul Chang, Mahanth Chirravuri, Ryder Cowan, Fischer, Ben James, William Jennings, Jackson Koivun, Christiaan Maas, and Preston Stout.
Fischer and Ole Miss men’s golf are preparing for the upcoming NCAA Championships, set to start May 29 at the Omni La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, California. The Rebels are ranked No. 9 nationally and are aiming for a strong postseason finish.
