Ole Miss Men’s Golf Coach Chris Malloy Named Finalist for 2026 Dave Williams Coach of the Year Award
Ole Miss men’s golf coach Chris Malloy has been named one of five finalists for the 2026 Dave Williams Award, presented by Golf Pride Grips. The award honors the top coach in NCAA Division I men’s golf, and the winner will be announced June 9, according to the Golf Coaches Association of America.
This marks Malloy’s second coaching award of the season. He previously earned SEC Coach of the Year honors, making him only the second coach in Ole Miss history to receive that accolade.
Under Malloy’s leadership, the Rebels are currently ranked No. 9 nationally and are the No. 8 seed at the NCAA Championship in Carlsbad, California. The team has finished in the top five ten times this season, including three team titles. Their highlights include capturing the program’s second SEC Championship, the first since 1984.
Five Ole Miss players have finished at least once in the top 10 this season, with four finishing in the top five. Malloy has guided a senior trio—Tom Fischer, Cameron Tankersley and Cohen Trolio—who all rank inside the top 55 of the World Amateur Golf Rankings and the top 20 of PGA TOUR U.
Fischer is a finalist for the Haskins Award and was named first-team All-SEC, while Tankersley earned second-team All-SEC honors. The team continues to compete in postseason play, with upcoming appearances at the NCAA Championships.
Additional finalists for the 2026 Dave Williams Award include coaches from Auburn, Florida, Arkansas, and Virginia.
