Mississippi State Women’s Golf Opens 2026 Season at Boilermaker Classic

STARKVILLE, Miss. — The Mississippi State women’s golf team begins its 2026-27 campaign Monday at the Boilermaker Classic, hosted by Purdue at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex.

The tournament features 36 holes on Monday, with a third round scheduled for Tuesday. The Bulldogs are coming off their sixth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance last season, extending the program record.

Mississippi State returns seven of eight golfers from last year’s roster. Seniors Avery Weed and Samantha Whateley lead the team; both won multiple individual championships last season. Whateley secured her first title at the Mason Rudolph Championship, while Weed earned her third at the Blessings Collegiate Invitational. Weed was also named to the preseason watch list for the ANNIKA Award, given annually to the top collegiate golfer.

Freshman Moa Stridh, who recorded nine rounds of par or better as a freshman, will compete in her sophomore season. Her best finish last season was T10 at the UCF Challenge. Two players will make their collegiate debuts Monday: sophomore Alicia Bellendir from Coppell, Texas, and freshman Blondie Persson-Lidgren from Sweden.
