Mississippi State Women’s Golf Heads to Vanderbilt for Mason Rudolph Championship

Mississippi State women’s golf is set to compete in the Mason Rudolph Championship at Vanderbilt Legends Club in Franklin, Tennessee, starting Friday. This marks the third consecutive year the Bulldogs have participated in the event.

The team has a strong history at the tournament, winning the team title in 2022 and producing the top individual finisher in the past two years, according to school officials. The Bulldogs will aim to continue their success this weekend.

The lineup remains consistent at the top, with seniors Avery Weed and Samantha Whateley leading the charge. Whateley won her first individual championship at the event last year, while Weed took home the title in 2024. Sophomore Moa Stridh will play in the third position after finishing T25 at the Boilermaker Classic and T49 last year at Mason Rudolph.

Freshman Alona Avery will make her Bulldogs debut. The transfer from UC Irvine started her college career strongly, finishing in the top 25 in six consecutive tournaments, including three in the top 10. She also finished in the top 25 in five straight tournaments last year.

Rounding out the lineup is sophomore Alicia Bellindir, who finished T11 at her first Bulldogs appearance at the Boilermaker Classic.
