Mississippi State Ties for Sixth After Second Day of SEC Championship

ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. — Mississippi State moved into a tie for sixth place after the second round of the SEC Championship, shooting a 7-under 273, school officials said.

The Bulldogs’ score is their second-best round at the tournament this year, behind only Monday’s 271 in the opening round. Ugo Malcor and Garrett Endicott led the team with rounds of 3-under 67. Malcor is tied for 18th, and Endicott is tied for 21st after two days.

Malcor played a steady round, recording four birdies and just one bogey — his only blemish through 36 holes. Endicott rebounded from an opening bogey with two birdies and an eagle, finishing the day with nine pars on the back nine.

Senior Dain Richie leads Mississippi State, tied for 15th after a 1-under 69 with five birdies. This marks Richie’s fifth consecutive round of par or better and his 10th of the season.

True freshmen Jackson Skinner and Jackson Cook each shot even-par 70. Skinner is tied for 37th after two solid rounds, while Cook is 66th overall.

Mississippi State will tee off for the third round at 7 a.m. CT on Friday from hole No. 1. Live results are available on SCOREBOARD.
