Ole Miss Softball Looks to Clinch Key SEC Series at Auburn

The University of Mississippi softball team is traveling to Auburn for its final SEC road series of the regular season. The Rebels (28-21, 2-16 SEC) will face the Tigers (24-22, 3-15 SEC) in a three-game set starting Friday at 6 p.m. Central Time. The series is crucial for SEC Tournament seeding, with the Rebels aiming to improve their position.

Ole Miss’s junior outfielder Cassie Reasner has been hot at the plate, hitting .487 with six home runs and 15 RBIs over her last 11 games. Freshman Madi George recently set the school single-season home run record with 10 homers in nine games. The Rebels have hit 71 home runs this season, averaging 1.45 per game, setting a new program record.

The team has shown strong offensive production, tallying multiple home runs in recent games against LSU and Southern Miss. Defense has also been a key focus, with Ole Miss posting a 17-7 record when error-free. The Rebels are among the top teams nationally in home runs and are looking to finish the season strong.

Ole Miss is facing a challenging schedule, ranked the third most difficult in the nation. The team has already played 18 games against RPI Top-25 opponents and 22 against the Top-50. The upcoming series at Auburn is part of their final six regular-season games, with matchups also against Mississippi State and a spot in the SEC Tournament on the line.

The series will be streamed on SEC Network Plus for the first two games, with the finale broadcast on SEC Network. The Rebels are seeking a win to boost their postseason prospects and improve their seeding heading into the conference tournament.
