Mississippi State Alum Julia Lopez Ramirez Selected for 2026 Solheim Cup
STARKVILLE — Julia Lopez Ramirez, a former Mississippi State golfer and current LPGA Tour member, has been selected to compete in the 2026 Solheim Cup for Team Europe, set for Sept. 7 in Bernardus, Netherlands, according to the university’s athletics department.
Lopez Ramirez was one of four captain’s picks made by Team Europe captain Anna Nordqvist. She will be among 12 golfers representing Europe in the biennial event.
This marks the fifth consecutive Solheim Cup appearance involving a Mississippi State golfer. Ally Ewing represented Team USA in the last four editions of the competition.
Since turning professional in 2025, Lopez Ramirez has played in 40 LPGA Tour events, making 27 cuts and achieving eight top-25 finishes, including two top-10 results. Her best finish came at the 2025 ISPS HANDA Women’s Scottish Open, where she finished tied for third at 14-under par.
Lopez Ramirez currently ranks second on the LPGA Tour this season with an average drive distance of 288.5 yards, according to LPGA statistics.
