Mississippi College’s Lauren Wallace Named GSC Top Ten Student-Athlete
CLINTON, Miss. — Mississippi College distance runner Lauren Wallace has been named to the Gulf South Conference Top Ten, an honor that celebrates the league’s top student-athletes for achievements beyond sports.
Wallace is the latest Choctaw to receive this recognition. The GSC Top Ten program has honored outstanding all-around student-athletes since 2005. Wallace made history with a standout 2025-26 season in cross country and track and field.
She earned United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Indoor First Team All-America honors in the mile. Her cross country season included winning the NCAA Division II South Region Championship and the GSC individual title. Wallace was also named the USTFCCCA Cross Country South Region Athlete of the Year and earned first-team all-GSC honors for her conference championship performance.
Off the track, Wallace has excelled academically. She received College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors, was named to the GSC All-Academic Team twice, and has been a three-time member of the GSC Academic Honor Roll. She is also listed on Mississippi College’s Dean’s List.
Beyond academics and athletics, Wallace has demonstrated leadership and community involvement. She serves as president of Kappa Delta Pi, works as a Mississippi College scout, volunteers teaching children, and mentors within her church community.
Wallace joins a list of recent Choctaw honorees, including McCall Lee, Erin Hederman, Emma Young, Gabe Poulin, Tytavia Hardy, Katie Taylor, Blaine Crim, and Andrea McDonald. The GSC Top Ten recognizes student-athletes who exemplify excellence in athletics, academics, and service while embodying the ideals of collegiate sports.
