Lady Crusaders Finish 13th at NAIA Women’s Golf Championship
Ypsilanti, Mich. — The Western Christian University Lady Crusaders finished 13th at the NAIA Women’s Golf National Championship, which was shortened due to weather delays. The team posted rounds of 315, 316, and 328 over a 48-hour period.
Play began Tuesday morning at 7 a.m. under difficult conditions, with sustained winds of 20 to 30 mph. Two weather delays interrupted play, and thunderstorms forced the suspension of the second round late Tuesday afternoon. Play resumed Wednesday morning at 9 a.m. under calmer conditions and concluded later in the day.
Aidan Haithcock led WCU with a first-round 75, tying her for seventh individually before the second round. The Lady Crusaders improved their position after the second round, climbing three spots on the leaderboard. Taamtond Nivasananda shot a 76 in the second round, and Pattaramon Ruangrung added a 78.
WCU finished the tournament with a final-round 328, securing a 13th-place finish among 30 teams. Haithcock posted a 78 in the final round, finishing tied for 23rd individually and earning a top 25 finish. The team’s appearance marked their ninth consecutive year making the cut at the NAIA Championship.
Individual scores for the Lady Crusaders included Haithcock with rounds of 75, 80, and 78; Nivasananda with 81, 76, and 80; Ruangrung with 80, 78, and 87; Gracelyn Cooley with 79, 84, and 83; Gracie Bloom with 82 and 82; and Kenley Archer with 91.
