Hinds Track & Field Shines at Crimson Tide Invitational

The Hinds Community College track and field team competed Saturday at the Crimson Tide Invitational in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, showcasing their depth and talent across multiple events, according to school officials.

Raheem Pinnock led the men’s team with a victory in the 100 meters, crossing the finish line in 10.30 seconds. Curtis Coleman III finished second in the 200 meters with a time of 20.59, while Pinnock was fourth in 20.61. Deshaun Gordon added a third-place finish in the 400 meters in 46.55 seconds.

In the hurdles, Matthew Sullivan finished second in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.02 seconds. Shadane Smith placed third in the 400-meter hurdles in 51.38 seconds. On the women’s side, Queen Usunobun finished fourth in the 400 meters with a time of 53.44. Angel Cumberbatch and Madison Rhodes also competed in the event.

The women’s team had a strong showing in the 4×400-meter relay, finishing second with a time of 3:39.58, demonstrating the team’s overall competitiveness. Mikenzey Hodges-Woods led the hurdles efforts, finishing fifth in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:00.96 and also competing in the 100-meter hurdles.
