Belhaven Women’s Track & Field Places Seven on CCS All-Conference Teams

Atlanta — Belhaven University’s women’s track and field team received seven All-Conference honors at the CCS Championships, highlighting a strong season finish. The team’s top performers included Kimona Haynes and Brycelyn Townsend, who each earned multiple accolades.

Haynes, a senior, claimed titles in both the 200-meter and 400-meter dashes, running times of 24.66 and 58.85, respectively. She also contributed to the first-place 4×400 relay team alongside Townsend. Haynes was named First Team All-Conference in both sprint events and was also named to the CCS All-Sportsmanship Team, according to the school.

Freshman Brycelyn Townsend earned First Team All-Conference honors in the 100-meter hurdles after winning the event in 15.92 seconds. She also finished second in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:07.95 and added a second-team nod for her efforts in that race. Townsend helped Belhaven’s 4×400 relay team, which posted a season-best 4:12.90 and finished first at the conference meet.

In the field events, Mallory Golden earned second-team All-Conference honors in the high jump after clearing a season-best 1.55 meters. Golden improved throughout the season, clearing 1.50 meters multiple times and finishing second at the CCS Championships. Yasmyne McCann also received second-team honors in the 100 meters, finishing second in the finals with a time of 12.78 seconds. She also placed third in the preliminaries and contributed in other events, including the long jump and the 200 meters.
