Belhaven Men’s Golf Finishes Fourth at Greystone Fall Invitational

The Belhaven men’s golf team finished in fourth place at the Greystone Fall Invitational held at Greystone Golf Club in Dickson, Tennessee. The Blazers shot rounds of 303 and 315, totaling a 36-hole score of 618, which was 42 over par, according to team officials.

Junior transfer Drew Groscost led Belhaven in his debut, posting consecutive rounds of 74 to finish tied for ninth at 148, or four over par. Groscost, a transfer from Jones College, also led the field with 27 pars and added three birdies during the tournament.

Fellow competitors Blake Broussard and Jordyn Raymond both finished in the top 12 as individuals. Broussard, a Southwest Mississippi Community College transfer, opened with a 74 and shot a 77 in the second round, ending the tournament in 11th place at 151, or seven over par. He made five birdies and played the par 5s at 2-under.

Raymond, a junior, finished one stroke behind Broussard, with rounds of 75 and 77, to tie for 12th at 152, or eight over par. He recorded 24 pars, tied for the third-highest total in the field. John McIntosh tied for 18th after rounds of 75 and 81, finishing at 156, or 12 over par. McIntosh made seven birdies and was 2-under on the par 5s.

Freshman Parker Church made his collegiate debut, shooting 78 and 79 for a total of 157, or 13 over. He finished 20th. Levi Turner and Schaefer Doane both tied for 22nd at 159, after matching rounds of 77 and 82. Turner recorded one of only three eagles in the tournament and added four birdies. Whitt Welch rounded out the lineup in 24th with scores of 79 and 81, totaling 160, or 16 over.

Oglethorpe’s B team won the four-team event with a score of 578, or 2 over par. Huntingdon’s B team finished second at 588, and Sewanee’s B team was third at 602. Belhaven is scheduled to return to competition September 27 at the Rhodes Fall Invitational in Tunica, Mississippi, officials said.
