Mooreville fined, placed on probation for leaving field before games end

The Mooreville football team has been placed on probation and the school fined after leaving the field before the game ended last Friday night.

During last Friday nights contest agains the New Albany Bulldogs, the Toppers left the field of play with approximately 8 minutes until the final whistle.

The result of this, by MHSAA rule, is probation for the football team including them being banned from postseason play.

Following a series of unsportmanlike penalties, fights and multiple ejections on both sides, Mooreville decided not to continue the game late in the fourth quarter as they trailed 38-7.

Mooreville is appealing the probation.
