ELLISVILLE, Miss. — The No. 23 Jones College volleyball team defeated Coahoma in straight sets Monday evening, improving to 13-5 overall and 3-1 in conference play. The Bobcats controlled the match from the start, winning 25-8, 25-6 and 25-9.
Jones spread opportunities across its lineup, with 12 players appearing in at least one set. Jensi Doise led the offense with 14 kills on 16 attempts, posting an .875 hitting percentage. She also contributed two service aces. Several other players made significant contributions defensively and offensively, including Selah Sandridge, Addyson Sides, and Myah Favre.
The Bobcats opened the match strongly, taking a 7-2 lead in the first set and extending it to 10-2. They maintained control throughout, closing out the set 25-8. Jones continued its momentum into the second set, racing to a 7-1 advantage and finishing with a 25-6 win. In the third, Coahoma kept it close early, tying at 3-3 before Jones pulled away, eventually winning 25-9.
Doise’s performance was a highlight, but others also contributed. Wicker handed out 15 assists and added three aces, while Guth led the back row with 10 digs. The Bobcats will return to action Tuesday against Wallace State-Selma.
