Jones College volleyball finished with a 3-1 record at the LB Wallace Crossover Tournament in Enterprise, Alabama. The Bobcats defeated Coastal Alabama-South, Snead State and Central Alabama and lost a five-set match to Lurleen B. Wallace, according to school officials.
Head coach John Dussouy said the tournament showcased the team’s developing depth. “When you’re able to play your entire roster and still be competitive, that’s a great sign that things are starting to come together,” he said. “It gives us more options for lineups and crucial moments in conference matches.”
Jones opened the event Friday with a straight-set win over Coastal Alabama-South, marking the first meeting between the two programs. The Bobcats hit .315 as a team, with Izzi Barnes leading the offense with 10 kills on 11 swings. Myah Favre added nine kills, and Amaya Wilson had eight, all with high hitting percentages.
The team faced a challenge against Snead State but responded after dropping the first set. Jones won the next three sets to secure the victory, hitting a season-best .367 in the third set. Favre led with 15 kills, while Barnes hit .769 with 10 kills on 13 attempts. Olivia Guth contributed 16 digs, and Claire Wicker dished out 25 assists.
The only setback came Saturday against Lurleen B. Wallace in a five-set battle. After losing the first set, Jones rallied for sets two and three before falling in the final set. Barnes again led offensively with 14 kills, and Selah Sandridge added 13. Wicker recorded 24 assists and 13 digs in the match.
The Bobcats closed the weekend with a dominant straight-set win over Central Alabama, hitting .455 with 32 kills and 16 service aces. Sandridge led with 10 kills and a .562 attack percentage. Wicker and Hariel contributed assists and aces as Jones improved to 10-3 overall.
Jones’s standout player was Barnes, who totaled 41 kills with a .667 hitting percentage across the tournament. Dussouy praised her impact, calling her one of the conference’s strongest middle blockers. Favre and Sandridge also made significant contributions, along with Wilson and Wicker. The team will return home Monday to face Gulf Coast in their next match.
