Jamonta Waller receives his first official offer from FAMU today. Waller is a Receiver/Defensive End for Picayune Maroon Tide.
I was able to meet the 6’2″ 215lb LB for the first time at the state championship games in Hattiesburg this past fall. This kid has a great combination of size and speed. He has long arms and is good in coverage. I was able to see that at a 7v7 tryout he attended.
“It’s amazing to finally get my first offer. I’m blessed. I haven’t really discussed what position I’m playing, but I’m working on some OLB techniques. I’m just trying to keep working hard on and off the field. My goals are to keep improving my game and bringing it to next level ability!”
Jamonta is very excited about his first offer. His favorite subject is History. Which is what him and his teammates are making right now.
Picayune team is loaded with talent and Waller is a very big piece. He had 111 total tackles last year and 61 solo. He is a sure tackler who tackled well against a hard nose West Point offense in the state title game. He also added on six sacks. Look for his name to be real big this year. With 32 QB hurries he is definitely a nightmare to opposing QBs.
