“That’s out, THAT’S OUT!” A fan said as Sam Malone CRUSHED one over the left field wall. It was his first home run of the year. New Hope won the game against East Webster, 9-0.
The third baseman is a great player and a major help to New Hope being 18-1 this year.
“It feels great to get my first home run. I was thinking wait back and hit one up the middle, but he threw one inside and I put a pretty good swing on it,” was Sam’s response when asked about his first homerun.
New Hope is loaded with big hitters and they play the field very well. They have several of seniors with leadership that I think can help this team get another championship this year.
“We just have to keep playing selfessly like we are now!”
Sam feels that if their team keeps playing with the chemistry they have now their chances of being champs this year are very good. There is a lot of good baseball being played in 5A right now. New Hope has been hot all year. They only have one loss on the season. They also picked up another win yesterday against Columbus, 15-0.
They will be back in action today against Kosciusko. JV is at 12 and V is at 2.
