Jackson, Mississippi — Belhaven University’s women’s soccer team earned two conference weekly honors after recent victories. Senior goalkeeper Addi Roberts was named CCS Defensive Player of the Week, while freshman defender Hayden Kessler received Rookie of the Week honors, the conference announced Tuesday.
Roberts played all 90 minutes in Saturday’s 2-0 win at Piedmont, making nine saves, six after halftime. The Florence, Mississippi, native kept the Lions from scoring and made two key saves in the final three minutes to secure the shutout. She has 34 saves across six appearances this season, marking her third CCS Defensive Player of the Week award and her second this fall, after earning the honor on Sept. 9 and Sept. 30, 2025, according to the conference.
Kessler contributed to a 4-0 win at Agnes Scott, playing 141 minutes across that match and the shutout at Piedmont. She assisted Jensen Ward’s second-half goal and helped hold Agnes Scott without a shot during the game. Kessler then played all 90 minutes against Piedmont as the Blazers protected their lead under pressure. This is her first weekly conference honor.
Belhaven improved to 4-2-1 overall and 3-0 in conference play, outscoring CCS opponents 10-1 with four shutouts through seven matches. The team returns home Thursday at Belhaven Bowl Stadium to host Pensacola State at 6:30 p.m., according to school officials.
