Roberts’ Nine Saves Lead Belhaven Past Piedmont 2-0

DEMORSET, Ga. — Addi Roberts made nine saves to help Belhaven secure a 2-0 victory over Piedmont on Saturday at Walker Athletic Complex.

Piedmont dominated the shot count, finishing with 18 attempts and 10 on target, but Roberts kept the Lions off the scoreboard with several key saves. Roberts stopped shots from Lexie Beitler in the 13th minute, Adriana Blumer, and Gracie Phillips early in the second half.

McKenzee Gregory, who came off the bench, scored the opening goal for Belhaven at 18:06. Alexis Whiting added an insurance goal at 73:59, her third straight match with a goal. Roberts made two more saves in the final three minutes to complete the shutout.

Belhaven improved to 4-2-1 overall and 3-0 in the Collegiate Conference of the South. Piedmont fell to 3-2-1 and 0-1-1 in conference play. The Blazers have won three consecutive matches and recorded their second straight shutout.
