Belhaven’s Addi Roberts Named CCS Defensive Player of the Week

Jackson, Miss. — Belhaven goalkeeper Addi Roberts has been named the Collegiate Conference of the South Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week. Roberts kept a clean sheet through 135 minutes in the season’s opening matches, according to school officials.

Roberts faced 12 shots across two road games, making five saves in a 3-0 win at Centenary and four saves in a scoreless draw at Hendrix. Her efforts helped the Blazers start the season 1-0-1 without conceding a goal, the school said.

The Florence, Mississippi, native made five saves in the first half at Centenary, preserving a 1-0 halftime lead. The Blazers scored twice in the second half to secure the win. Four days later, Roberts played all 90 minutes against Hendrix, stopping all seven shots on target, including two in quick succession during a key moment in the 63rd minute.

Roberts posted a perfect save percentage and a 0.00 goals-against average for the week. This marks her second CCS Defensive Player of the Week award; she previously earned the honor on Sept. 30, 2025, after back-to-back shutouts and seven saves in conference wins last season.

In her first season at Belhaven in 2025, Roberts started 18 games, recording 58 saves and helping the team win its first CCS championship and reach the NCAA Tournament. The Blazers return to action Thursday when they host LeTourneau at Belhaven Bowl Stadium at 5 p.m., officials said.
