Northwest Mississippi Volleyball Enters NJCAA Top 25 for First Time

The Northwest Mississippi Community College volleyball team has achieved a historic milestone by entering the NJCAA Division II Top 25 poll for the first time since the program began in 2020. The rankings were released Tuesday, with the Rangers sitting at No. 23.

Northwest is currently 23-0 and sits ahead of Jones College (13-5) and just behind Pearl River Community College (16-4). This marks the first time Mississippi has had three teams ranked in the Top 25. The Rangers recently defeated Pearl River, giving them wins over two top-25 teams this season, including an opening weekend victory over No. 22 Pellissippi State Community College.

The team will face several upcoming opponents, including No. 18 Lurleen B. Wallace Community College (17-1) on Friday at 1 p.m. during the Alabama Gulf Coast Classic. They will also play Bishop State Community College (7-10) on Friday, followed by matches against Snead State Community College (9-14) and Enterprise State Community College (17-5), which is receiving votes. The Rangers’ next home match is Wednesday against East Central Community College, scheduled for 6 p.m. at Howard Coliseum. That game will be streamed on Ranger TV, with a pregame show beginning at 5:55 p.m.
