Werynski finishes in top 20 at South/Southeast Regional Preview

DADE CITY, Fla. — Ty Werynski of Delta State University finished in a tie for 16th place at the NCAA Division II South/Southeast Regional Preview held Wednesday at Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club.

The Green and White finished 11th as a team, with a three-round total of 857 (-7). The team’s best round was the final one, highlighted by Werynski’s two-under-par 70 and Linus Utter’s one-under-par 71.

Delta State shot a season-high 22 birdies in the second round, two more than in the first. Werynski’s performance included a total of 210 (-6) over three rounds, while Utter and Gonzalo De Minon each finished with a score of 216, even par for the tournament.

The team will compete next week at the Hurricane Invitational, hosted by Georgia Southwestern University in Albany, Georgia.
