Owls’ Addison Owen Named SLIAC Softball Hitter of the Week
Columbus, Miss. — Addison Owen, a junior shortstop for Mississippi University for Women, has been named the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Softball Hitter of the Week for April 6-12, the league announced.
Owen helped lead the Owls to a 4-0 week, including doubleheader sweeps over Lyon College and Eureka College. During that span, she batted .733 (11-for-15), with a .722 on-base percentage and a 1.067 slugging percentage, according to the league.
She recorded three doubles and a triple, including a 5-for-5 performance against Eureka College. Owen hit safely in all four wins and posted three multi-hit games, raising her season total to 15. She scored 10 runs and drove in nine, with multiple runs and RBIs in each game.
Owen did not strike out during the week and committed no errors on defense. The weekly award is her second of the season, and she has been recognized four times overall in 2026. She leads the SLIAC in batting average at .526 across 23 games and ranks first in on-base percentage at .543 and in total hits with 40. Additionally, she is third in slugging percentage at .658, eighth in stolen bases with 10, and ninth in runs scored with 20.
