Ole Miss Women’s Golf Advances to SEC Match Play After Fifth-Place Finish

The University of Mississippi women’s golf team finished fifth at the SEC Championship, earning a spot in the match play portion of the tournament. The Rebels posted a team score of 840, finishing even par overall, at Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, Florida, according to tournament officials.

Ole Miss will be the No. 5 seed and will face No. 4 seed Auburn in the quarterfinals. Match play begins at 7 a.m. CT on Monday. If the Rebels advance, the semifinals will be streamed on SEC Network+ and the championship match is scheduled for Tuesday at 9 a.m. CT on SEC Network.

Mary Miller led the Rebels with a second-place finish, shooting a 6-under-par 204 over 54 holes. Her performance marked a career-low score and her fourth top 10 finish of the season, according to Ole Miss athletics. Miller shot a 2-over 74 in the final round but had previously posted a season-best score earlier in the tournament.

Other notable performances included Kajsalotta Svarvar, who shot the lowest round of the day for Ole Miss at 2-under, and Matilda Björkman, who rebounded after difficult days to shoot even par in her final round. Miller’s debut at the SEC Championship was considered a standout performance.

The quarterfinal match against Auburn will be held Monday morning. The Rebels’ journey in the SEC Championship can be followed on the SEC Network+ if they advance. Fans can stay updated on Ole Miss women’s golf through the team’s social media channels, including Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.
