Ole Miss Softball Celebrates 20 Scholar-Athletes Recognized by NFCA
The University of Mississippi softball team has announced that 20 of its players have been named NFCA Scholar Athletes for 2026. The players achieved grade-point averages above 3.5 during the academic year, according to school officials.
Among those honored are Laylonna Applin, Makenna Bellaire, Kennedy Bunker, Rachel Connors, Madi George, and others. The team posted a combined GPA of 3.56 during the spring semester, reflecting their commitment to academics under head coach Jamie Trachsel.
Ole Miss’s academic achievements extend beyond individual honors, with five players earning spots on the CSC Academic All-District teams. The team continues to balance competitive play with scholastic success, officials said.
