Ole Miss Running Back Kewan Lacy Named Cover Athlete for EA SPORTS College Football 27
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. — Ole Miss running back Kewan Lacy has been named one of three cover athletes for EA SPORTS College Football 27, the video game publisher announced Thursday. Lacy joins Oregon quarterback Dante Moore and Miami wide receiver Malachi Toney on the cover of the Standard Edition.
EA SPORTS officials said the selection reflects a modern era of college football. Evan Dexter, vice president of franchise strategy and marketing, said the athletes symbolize the game’s goal to authentically represent college football’s evolving landscape.
Lacy, a sophomore, burst onto the scene in 2025, setting multiple program records. He rushed for over 1,500 yards and scored 24 rushing touchdowns, second-most in the nation. Lacy scored in 14 of his 15 games, with seven multi-touchdown performances. His season included a 73-yard touchdown run in the College Football Playoff semifinal and a 224-yard, three-touchdown game against Florida.
He earned first-team All-American honors from the FWAA and first-team All-SEC. Lacy was Ole Miss’ first-ever Doak Walker Award finalist and is expected to contend for the honor again in 2026. His efforts helped the Rebels prepare for their season opener against Louisville on Sept. 6 in Nashville.
“Playing this game for hours with my family growing up makes this an unreal experience,” Lacy said. “Being on the cover of EA SPORTS College Football 27 is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”
The game is scheduled for release later this year, with the full reveal set for June 4 at 8 p.m. ET.
