Ole Miss Men’s Golf Ranks Third at SEC Championship After Two Rounds
The No. 12 Ole Miss men’s golf team stands in third place after two rounds at the SEC Championship at Sea Island Golf Club in St. Simons Island, Georgia. The Rebels shot a 274, or 6-under par, in Thursday’s second round and are 21-under overall for the tournament, according to tournament officials.
Tom Fischer led the team with a bogey-free 5-under 65 in round two, extending his consecutive streak of under-par rounds to seven. Fischer, a Birmingham, Alabama native, was 2-under after nine holes and finished with three additional birdies on the back nine. He is tied for eighth in the individual standings at 7-under par.
Cameron Tankersley also contributed to the team score, carding a 1-under 69 in the second round and sitting at 7-under for the tournament. The Trolio brothers, Cohen and Collins, shot even par and 3-over, respectively, in their second rounds. Daniel Tolf was 1-over Thursday and is even for the championship.
Ole Miss aims to qualify for match play for the first time since 2023. The top eight teams after stroke play will advance to the bracket. The final round begins Friday at 8:15 a.m. Central Time.
