Ole Miss Men’s Golf Leads SEC Championship After Stellar Opening Round

The University of Mississippi men’s golf team leads after the first round of the SEC Championship at Sea Island Golf Club in St. Simons Island, Georgia. The Rebels posted a team score of 265, 15 under par, tying for the second-lowest opening round in SEC history and ranking fourth all-time at the event, according to tournament officials.

Cameron Tankersley and Cohen Trolio each shot 6-under 64, the best performances of the day for Ole Miss. Tankersley birdied four of his first six holes and finished with a team-best 10th round in the 60s this season. Trolio, making his championship debut, was bogey-free over his final nine holes, closing with a 4-under 31 on the inward nine.

Senior Tom Fischer shot 2-under 68, marking his seventh consecutive under-par round. Fischer recorded three straight birdies to finish his round. Daniel Tolf added a 1-under 69, while Collins Trolio shot 3-over 73. Ole Miss led the field in par-3 scoring and birdies on Monday.
