Mississippi State Alumni Active in Professional Soccer Leagues

Eleven alumni of Mississippi State University are currently active in professional soccer, competing across various leagues in Europe, North America, Mexico, and Australia, according to the school’s communications director, Brian Ogden.

Among them, Maddy Anderson is playing for Racing Lens in France’s Première Ligue. In May, she appeared in one game, allowing six goals and making five saves. Racing Lens finished 11th in the league and was relegated to the Seconde Ligue.

Rylie Combs of Eskilstuna United in Sweden’s Damallsvenskan played two matches in May, including a full 90-minute game. Eskilstuna is sixth in the league, with three matches scheduled in June.

Macey Hodge, with Racing Louisville FC in the National Women’s Soccer League, appeared in five matches in May, mostly as a substitute. Louisville sits last in the standings with seven points.

Ilana Izquierdo is with Tigres UANL in Mexico’s Liga MX Femenil. She played 22 matches last season, with Tigres finishing third and advancing to the playoffs but losing in the quarterfinals.

Gwen Mummert, who plays for FC Carl Zeiss Jena in Germany’s Frauen Bundesliga, has been injured this season. The team finished 14th and will be relegated to the second division.

Other Bulldogs include Catalina Perez at Racing Strasbourg in France, Ally Perry at Juventus in Italy, and Kennedy White with Melbourne Victory in Australia. All are contributing to their teams’ efforts as the seasons progress.
