Mississippi State Soccer Players Continue International and Professional Seasons

Eleven former Mississippi State soccer players are actively competing on professional teams across the globe, making the school one of the top exporters of pro soccer talent in recent years, according to school officials.

While many leagues paused in June for the FIFA Men’s World Cup, some Bulldogs continued play. Rylie Combs, for example, played in Sweden for Eskilstuna United, appearing in three matches, including a 1-1 draw with Malmo FF and a win over Piteå.

In France, Maddy Anderson took part in Racing Lens’ matches, though the team finished 11th and was relegated to the Seconde Ligue. Anderson played nine games during the 2025-26 season, allowing 17 goals with a save percentage of .679.

Other Bulldogs competing include Macey Hodge with Racing Louisville FC in the National Women’s Soccer League, where she has appeared in 11 games. Hannah Johnson helped Lexington SC win the USL Super League title, while Kennedy White participated in 23 matches for Melbourne Victory in Australia’s A-League.

Additional players, such as Ilana Izquierdo with Tigres UANL in Mexico and Ally Perry with Juventus in Italy, are also active. Many of these athletes continued their seasons during the break, with some teams already in postseason contention or relegation battles, depending on their league standings.
