Mississippi College Women’s Golf Wins Duncan Invitational
TUNICA, Miss. — The Mississippi College women’s golf team secured a decisive victory at the Lee and Joe Duncan Invitational, finishing with a team score of 901 over three rounds, according to school officials.
Senior Ashlynd Madden led the way for the Choctaws, shooting a final score of 221. Her second round of 67 was the lowest of any player in the tournament and marked her first individual title of the season.
Mississippi College built a strong lead after a second-round 291 and maintained its dominance with a 310 in the final round. The team finished 56 strokes ahead of runner-up Christian Brothers.
Sophomore Sofia Mendez finished with a score of 225, opening with an even-par 72 and posting rounds of 76 and 77. Sydney Moss finished with a total of 226, improving each round and shooting a 74 in the final round. Freshman Allie Myers added a score of 229, tying for fourth overall, while Suwanna McPhee shot 161 over the first two rounds.
Mississippi College will compete next at the Gulf South Conference Tournament, scheduled for April 20-22 at GreyStone Golf Club in Dickson, Tennessee, according to school officials.
