Millsaps Track and Field Prepares for 2026 SAA Outdoor Championships
The Millsaps College men’s and women’s track and field teams will compete in the 2026 Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Outdoor Championships on April 24-25 in Mount Berry, Georgia. The event is hosted at Berry College’s Valhalla Stadium, Williams Field, Clark Track, and Dickey Field.
Live coverage will be available via streaming links provided by Berry College, with event times starting at 7:30 a.m. Central Time on Friday and 8 a.m. on Saturday. General admission costs $10 per day, with discounts for children and seniors, and free entry for children under 2 and all SAA students and staff with valid IDs. Pets are not allowed, except for ADA-approved service animals.
On the women’s side, junior Fiona Selders leads the team in sprints, ranking seventh in the SAA in both the 100 meters (12.33 seconds) and 200 meters (25.29). Sophomore Suzanna Busbee also contributes in sprints, placing 23rd in the 100 meters and 29th in the 200 meters. Senior Eleanor Scott is a top performer in field events, ranked seventh in the triple jump (11.11 meters) and tied for 11th in the high jump (1.47 meters). Freshman Katie Brown also ranks 11th in the high jump.
In distance events, sophomore Claudia Dempsey will compete in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, where she is ranked 18th with a time of 13:27.88. The team has shown strength in throwing events, with junior Reese Brasseaux ranked second in discus (39.80 meters) and junior Amelia Bohl sitting 10th in discus and 14th in hammer throw. Senior Amari Jackson-Wright ranks 15th in shot put and 17th in discus.
On the men’s side, sophomore Aidan Brice leads the sprint group, ranked 23rd in the 100 meters with a time of 11.31 seconds. Freshmen Nick Price and Wyatt Wheeler also contribute, with Wheeler adding a 15th-place mark in the long jump. In middle-distance events, freshman Luke LeFors ranks 16th in the 400 meters, and freshman Benjamin Sylve is 20th in the 800 meters. Sophomore Greer Hernandez leads the distance runners with a 10th-place ranking in the 5,000 meters.
The team also has notable performances in relay events, with the 4×100-meter relay team ranked sixth nationally. Field event athletes include Sean Wyers, who is seventh in discus, and other competitors in shot put, javelin, and hammer throw. The team aims to improve standings at the conference meet and showcase the talent of its athletes.
