Millsaps Track and Field Athletes Recognized for Sportsmanship
Millsaps College announced that three of its track and field athletes received Southern Athletic Association All-Sportsmanship Team honors for the recent indoor and outdoor seasons.
Senior Eleanor Scott was named to both the indoor and outdoor All-Sportsmanship Teams. The Clinton, Mississippi, native set a school record in the indoor triple jump and finished seventh at the 2026 SAA Indoor Championships. She also scored in two events at the outdoor championships, placing seventh in the high jump and eighth in the triple jump.
Junior Carter Davis made the indoor team for the second straight season. The Mandeville, Louisiana, native competed in the weight throw, javelin, and hammer throw during the season. Davis recorded a personal best in the javelin at the Rhodes 7-Way Meet with a throw of 27.49 meters. He also finished 17th in the men’s javelin and 21st in the hammer at the SAA Outdoor Championships.
Sophomore Greer Hernandez was named to the outdoor team. The distance runner from Broussard, Louisiana, set a school record in the 5,000 meters at the SAA Outdoor Championships with a time of 32 minutes, 7.12 seconds, winning the event. Hernandez also ranked 10th in the 5,000 meters and competed in the indoor season, where he became the second-fastest Millsaps runner in the mile and 3,000 meters.
