CANTON, Ga. — Three Millsaps College track and field athletes have been recognized for their sportsmanship by the Southern Athletic Association. Eleanor Scott, a senior, was named to both the indoor and outdoor SAA All-Sportsmanship Teams, while junior Carter Davis and sophomore Greer Hernandez earned spots on the respective teams for their seasons, as announced by the conference.
Scott, from Clinton, Mississippi, finished her senior year with notable performances, including a seventh-place finish in the triple jump at the indoor championships. She set the Millsaps indoor record with a jump of 10.37 meters in January and improved her distance to 10.68 meters at the 2026 indoor meet. At the outdoor championships, she scored in both the high jump and triple jump, finishing seventh and eighth, respectively.
Davis, from Mandeville, Louisiana, made his second consecutive appearance on the indoor All-Sportsmanship Team. He recorded an 8.00-meter throw in the weight throw at the 2026 indoor championships. During the outdoor season, Davis placed 17th in javelin and 21st in hammer throw at the SAA Championships. He achieved a personal best of 27.49 meters in javelin at the Rhodes 7-Way Meet in April. Davis is majoring in accounting with a minor in communications and is involved in multiple campus organizations, including the Kappa Sigma Fraternity and the Finance Club.
Hernandez, a distance runner from Broussard, Louisiana, showcased his dedication with a school-record time of 32:07.12 in the 10,000 meters at the outdoor championships, winning the race and earning All-SAA First Team honors. He also finished 10th in the 5,000 meters and made a significant impact during the indoor season, becoming the second-fastest Millsaps athlete in the mile and 3K events. Hernandez is studying business administration and history and plans to pursue an MBA after graduation.
The conference recognized these athletes for their commitment to fair play and leadership in competition. Millsaps College, founded in 1890 and based in Jackson, Mississippi, continues to emphasize integrity and excellence in its athletic programs, which are celebrated across national rankings and publications.
